Inside the prison
Kairos Inside®
A 3½-day Weekend inside men’s and women’s prisons, led by volunteers of the same gender — talks, discussions and chapel meditations that build a Christian community. Volunteers return every month for a Reunion, so the community keeps growing after the Weekend ends.
What happens on a Kairos Inside Weekend
A Kairos Inside Weekend runs for three and a half days inside a men’s or women’s prison. A team of trained volunteers leads it — men serve in men’s prisons, women in women’s. Through short talks, small-group discussions around the table and chapel meditations, participants are welcomed, listened to and invited to experience God’s love.
No one is pressured or preached at. Many participants say what reached them most was simply that people chose to come.
After the Weekend
The Weekend is a beginning. Volunteers return every month for a Reunion, and participants meet in small prayer-and-share groups to keep growing in faith together. Over time, a Christian community takes root inside the prison.
How you can be part of it
- Pray for a Weekend and the people on it.
- Bake cookies — every participant receives them.
- Make agape — hand-made posters, placemats and letters that say “you are loved.”
- Serve on a Weekend team, after training alongside experienced volunteers.
