For young people
Kairos Torch®
A mentoring program for incarcerated youth under 25. Volunteers walk alongside them to strengthen their reasoning skills and help them make better life choices.
Mentoring young people
Kairos Torch is for young people under 25 who are incarcerated. It begins with a Weekend inside a youth facility and continues as volunteers return regularly to meet with the young people as mentors.
Mentors don’t need to have all the answers. They show up, listen, and walk alongside young people as they learn to think decisions through and make better life choices — often for the first time with a trustworthy adult who isn’t paid to be there.
How you can be part of it
- Pray for a Weekend and the people on it.
- Bake cookies — every participant receives them.
- Make agape — hand-made posters, placemats and letters that say “you are loved.”
- Become a Torch mentor, after training alongside experienced volunteers.

Inside the prison
Kairos Inside®
A 3½-day Weekend inside men’s and women’s prisons, led by volunteers of the same gender — talks, discussions and chapel meditations that build a Christian community. Volunteers return every month for a Reunion, so the community keeps growing after the Weekend ends.
For the families
Kairos Outside®
Spouses, parents and relatives of those in prison often “do time” right along with their loved ones. Kairos Outside is a Weekend for the women in their lives that lets them know they are not alone.
